How can YOUR business benefit?

Broxap, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of street furniture, has taken the decision to recruit three new apprentices to manage the ever increasing demand in their products. The decision to take part in the TDS Academy programme was driven largely by the recognition that the business needed new skilled staff to grow.

Tom Elliott, Technical Director at Broxap stated “we were initially informed about this new training programme and recognised the enormous benefits that it would offer to our business. We took the view that by investing in our future generation we could produce the next string of specialist designer engineers to complement our existing team. The only viable route to achieve this was through an apprenticeship programme - particularly one that’s been designed and tailored specifically for our industry.”

The TDS Academy is a training provider specialising in CAD apprenticeships for the steelwork industry. We work with businesses across the UK providing a unique learning experience specifically designed for, and dedicated for this exciting and rewarding industry. The benefits to employers includes skilled individuals who are able to grow the business, as well as proven impacts on the whole business such as increased productivity and morale. What is more, this programme has grant funds available which means that for some employers, this scheme is free. But, these funds have a deadline so action is needed now to avoid missing out.

DGT Structures Ltd is a fully integrated contractor which specialises in design, manufacture, fabrication, supply and erection of structural steelwork, roofing, cladding and integrated facades. DGT Structures Ltd pride themselves on being proactive and practical with a one-stop approach to the delivery of quality projects. Having already engaged one apprentice to go through the process in the last semester, DGT Structures Ltd have now confirmed a second apprentice position for the September intake.

“I have entered this course with low and insignificant knowledge of CAD and Draughting but I know that even by the first couple of weeks of the course I will have learned a significant amount to be confident and competent in these fields. I am very excited about this course and most of that excitement is fuelled by those helping and working with me.” Says Ben Herrick, DGT Apprentice.

This video also helps to showcase the benefits for employers, but our message is that it really is all of our responsibilities to kick start the industry with apprenticeships. But moreover, act now to take advantage of the financial incentives too.

Declan McDonnell Director at TDS Acadmey comments.

“The future of the industry relies heavily on the development of young people and new skills. New technology and new ideas mean that growth of the industry is inevitable. Broxap will inevitably reap the rewards of expansion and diversification but will ultimately have a positive impact on the economy as well as the apprentices they employ”.
