Get ahead!

1. Getting a head & getting ahead - Simple really!

Sonic_Madrid.jpgThe pun is entirely intentional ! I took this picture of a street artist with my son in the Plaza Mayor (Great Plaza) in Madrid.

A very simple trick to get the effect of a headless soldier, but pretty effective nonetheless.

And by the way Madrid is a lovely city, well worth a visit with plenty to see and do and not as expensive as a lot of other Western European capitals.

And many Companies are finding their way ahead in these unsettled times by moving towards refurbishment and cleaning rather than replacing. This may be pure economics caused by the current climate in which case it will be short term. However we also see longer term underlying trends towards recycling, keeping equipment longer and using environmentally safer cleaning products. These trends have caused our business and that of many of our customers’ to continue growing this year.

So call us on 01924 495975 and see how we can help you get ahead.

Jobs this last month that restored our customers’ productivity and quality for a fraction of the price of a new part:

2. Look after the pounds and maybe you’ll have more than you thought !

Most people will be looking to get rid of their old £1 coins over the summer, ahead of the deadline to spend them on 15th October. Some collectors, however, will only be too happy to relieve you of them — in particular of the ‘Edinburgh City’, which is the rarest of the old £1 coins and sells for up to £15 online.

Ahead of the release of the new £1 coins in March, more than 200,000 trial coins were issued to businesses to test their machines. These coins are not legal tender, but they have been selling online for prices from £150, with some fetching as much as £6,000.

As for the actual £1 coins, a series of minting errors has led to hefty windfalls for people lucky enough to have found them in their change. Examples have included coins with badly aligned text, misshapen edges or gaps between the two metals, and ones where the Queen’s head is upside down or missing altogether. One such example fetched £250 on eBay. The most expensive mis-struck £1 coin went for £295 last month.
