Trim Clips & Panel Fixings

Trim Clips

Trim Clips are pressed from spring steel and are designed for fixing thin sheet panels of various materials together quickly and easily without the need for a threaded fastener. The speed and ease of the assembly make these parts very popular in the automotive and white goods industries for fastening plastic trims or inspection covers to metal chassis or the body in white. The clips are retained on a plastic upstand by barbs and then the outer legs grip the sides of the punched hole in the mating panel. There are a range of sizes and pull off loads to suit all applications.

Chimney Nuts & Lug Nuts

Chimney Nuts

Chimney Nuts or Lug Nuts are used for fastening thin sheets or metal or plastic. They have a boss formed in the stamping process which is tapped. This multiple thread form provides a very strong fixing when compared to traditional Spire Nuts with single thread forms. The part is pushed over the edge of the panel or into a rectangular hole. They are available in thread sizes from M4 to M8 in a variety of finishes and materials.

 Easy Clips

 Easy Clips

When designing plastic mouldings with thin wall sections it can be difficult to mould a fixing boss to accept an insert or thread forming screw. The Easy Clip is the perfect solution; a U shaped plastic clip which has its own boss. It simply slides over the edge of the panel ready to accept the mating screw. Another benefit is that it can be easily relocated if necessary reducing tooling costs.
