This month’s installations have been pretty wide-ranging in terms of their purposes, from the usual gardens through schools and even a first for us – a ‘Pop-Up Park’, commissioned by Leeds City Council to add some short-term greenery to the busy city centre. We were delighted to be asked to partner the Council on the project, which involved turning Cookridge Street in Leeds city centre into almost 1000 square metres of green haven in 24 hours for the people to enjoy and appreciate. The street was closed off in order for us to lay our 30mm ‘Superior’ grass product, which given the size of course took some considerable work logistically in order to ensure the finished look was ideal. With the amount of grass in situ we needed to join a series of pieces together in order to ensure a smooth ‘parkland style’ feature, and this sat perfectly within the road area alongside the pavement kerbs. Below are some pictures of the initial installation in process;

We also installed a series of picnic tables in order to give the area a true park feel and give somewhere for the public to sit and relax. These were attached to the road through the grass for safety and security, and prior to opening the finished article looked absolutely fantastic;

The Park is open for 4 weeks and we will then be returning to remove and transport to a storage location, but in the meantime here are some of the public enjoying some downtime!
