Ash Cloud Doesn't Spoil The Show
The biannual international wire exhibition was held at the Meese Düsseldorf between the 12th - 19th April.
Airedale Springs sent 4 representatives to the exhibition with a view to assessing the latest developments in the wire forming and coiling industry. All the major machinery manufacturers were well represented and this was an excellent opportunity to compare the various types of machines together under one very large roof.
Airedale Springs has always invested in the latest technology and we were keen to maintain this trend even under difficult trading circumstances. We were not just looking at equipment for the production of wire forms and springs but ancillary equipment to improve quality and reduce set up times. We were particularly interested in a special tool grinder to regrind special forming tools for equipment we already posses. This equipment would improve the quality of tools and the consistency of the finished product.
We are currently assessing a number of other machines and future news letters will reveal or decisions.
The 15th of April was an interesting day, not because of what was happing at the show but in Iceland. Our representatives were due to fly home on the 15th. Arriving home two days late was a frustrating end to an otherwise excellent show.
